Internationally acclaimed foodservice certification programme aims to raise professional standards and strengthen expertise across India’s rapidly growing foodservice equipment sector.
In a significant step towards advancing professional standards in India’s foodservice industry, the Foodservice Equipment Association (FEA) has partnered with the International Hospitality Sales Professionals Forum (IHSPF) to launch the globally recognised Certified Food Service Professional (CFSP) programme in India.
Widely regarded as one of the foodservice industry’s most respected professional qualifications, CFSP provides a comprehensive understanding of commercial kitchen operations, foodservice systems and industry processes. With more than 700 graduates in the UK alone and established programmes in the USA, Australia, UAE, Sweden and Italy, the certification has become an international benchmark for knowledge and professionalism in the sector.
Designed for foodservice operators, equipment manufacturers, consultants, dealers and service providers, the programme offers a broad perspective on how the foodservice ecosystem functions. Its holistic approach makes it one of the few qualifications that addresses both operational and commercial aspects of the industry.
The inaugural Indian programme will accommodate up to 25 participants from the foodservice equipment community. Candidates will receive access to the complete CFSP study guide and, for the first time, a series of supporting webinars and learning sessions throughout the study cycle, which will span approximately two to three months.
The final course revision workshop is scheduled to be held at the Unox facility in New Delhi on 18–19 February 2027. The programme’s webinars, workshop sessions and examinations will be conducted by Graham Veal CFSP, one of FEA’s experienced CFSP trainers.
Commenting on the initiative, Niranjan Lakshminarayan CFSP of IHSPF, who has himself completed the qualification, said, “We are extremely pleased to be bringing CFSP to India. It is an internationally recognised qualification and, with the increasing importance of India’s foodservice equipment industry, will provide an excellent way of ensuring our community is providing top-quality expertise to our customers.”
John Cunningham, Chief Executive of FEA, highlighted India’s growing importance in the global foodservice landscape. “India is one of the world’s largest foodservice markets and we are delighted to be working with IHSPF to launch CFSP there. The enthusiasm of Niranjan and his team underlines just how highly valued the qualification is,”he said.
The introduction of CFSP comes at a time when India’s hospitality, foodservice and commercial kitchen sectors are experiencing accelerated growth, creating greater demand for skilled professionals with specialised knowledge of equipment, operations and service excellence.
With its international credentials and structured curriculum, the programme is expected to play an important role in strengthening industry expertise, supporting professional development and enhancing standards across India’s expanding foodservice ecosystem.
Registration for the programme is now open, with the qualification offering industry professionals an opportunity to gain globally recognised credentials while deepening their understanding of one of the world’s most dynamic foodservice markets. For more information on FEA visit www.fea.org.uk
